It was great to finally get to buy Shogun, it was the original game in the great Total War series and I just thought that I had to own it. At first its strange to get used to the controls but in the end they work just the same.
The graphics aren't comparable to todays' graphics but they shouldn't be. Shogun came out in 2000 and the graphics are just fine for a game from that year. The gameplay is fun and I also like that the game takes place in the interesting period known as the Sengoku Jidai (The Age of the Country at War). Shogun makes for a great game. I recommend it to players of the Total War series who are interested in the roots of the series...

Shogun Gold Edition Overview
Thousands of loyal warriors stand before you, a nation lies ready to be conquered, in the shadows, ninja assassins await your orders. In Shogun: Total War you must display strength and cunning to conquer ancient Japan. In Mongol Invasion you lead the Mongol hordes on a bloody campaign to invade Japan and steal its riches.
Impenetrable Defense: Successfully defend Dustbowl without giving up a capture.
This achievement might be hard to get unless you have a team full of really good players working together. Dustbowl is a very hard map to defend with people who don't know what they're doing or with a team that has a really solid offense.
I suggest getting a group of good friends together to coordinate as much of your teams activity as possible. If this isn't possible then you'll just have to play a lot of Dustbowl until you get this. I would suggest going to a 24/7 Dustbowl server.
Impossible Defense:Successfully defend Gravel Pit without giving up a capture.
Gravelpit is one of my favorite maps. I love Scout and Spy and they dominate on this map for defense. While red almost always defends B and lets blu have A this isn't going to be helpful to this achievement. The easiest way to get this achievement is to stack red with players who work well together.
Putting too much effort into defending A you'll easily lose B. B is one of the most commonly defended points because you can build on the roof and the attacking team can also get on the roof. Having the upper level of the map really helps to ambush unsuspecting players below. If you have good defense on both sites you should be able to hold this down just fine.
Head of the Class:Play a complete round with every class.
If you're like me you want to try out every class. Just make sure you play a full round (no changing at re-spawns) with each one.
Flamethrower:Set five enemies on fire in 30 seconds.
Flamethrower is a very fun achievement. I suggest waiting to go for this one until you try for your Pyro achievements. The easiest way to do this is wait around a corner for people to come by.
Either that or go suicidal and charge the other team and try to spray your flame back and forth. You don't have to kill them you just have to set them on fire.
The only allies are enemies. It's a time of crisis. Three of the most powerful forces in the universe head on a collision course for galactic domination. The only choice is war.
An ancient evil lies dormant within Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane. Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth and biding his time until he can reforge the world in molten fire. Soon, Deathwing the Destroyer will return to Azeroth, and his eruption from Deepholm will sunder the world, leaving a festering wound across the continents. As the Horde and Alliance race to the epicenter of the cataclysm, the kingdoms of Azeroth will witness seismic shifts in power, the kindling of a war of the elements, and the emergence of unlikely heroes who will rise up to protect their scarred and broken world from utter devastation.

The Mongol Invasion : Shogun Total War Expansion Overview
Amazon.co.uk Review Lead your Samurai warriors once more in Shogun Total War: The Mongol Invasion Add-On Pack for Shogun Total War. As before your task is to command thousands of loyal samurai and other troops against warring factions in massive battles that will determine the fate of Japan itself.
Keeping true to the original game, this add-on pack offers four new campaigns and four new strategy map scenarios to take you straight into the action. The main thing you'll notice is the addition of the Mongolians to battle against as they try to invade Japan in the 13th century. Of course with any addition of a new race in a game comes a host of battlefield units to get to grips with and additions like the Mongolian Cavalry make for a gruelling challenge.
Rather than just adding a new race and new challenges to conquer, EA have tinkered with the AI giving the gameplay a more balanced approach as well as improving the interface and presentation of the whole game overall. If you're looking to put a new lease of life into what is essentially a very good game then this will certainly do the trick. --Jason Denwood
Manufacturer's Description Let the battle begin! Feudal Japan is under attack from invading Mongol hordes in the official expansion pack for Shogun: Total Warlords. The new enemy threatens to destroy the country and offers a completely new style of gameplay with the focus on pillaging the Japanese landscape (rather than building). The Mongol Invasion pack will also offer an array of new and improved features to reintroduce players to the original Shogun title that delivered a revolutionary style of gameplay through its epic size battles, giving players command of thousands of warriors, each with their own unique Artificial Intelligence (AI) and fighting to unify Japan under their own powerful warlord.

One of the playable races open to the gamer in Starcraft 2 are the Protoss. They were originally an engineered race created by the Xel Naga along with the Zerg race. In both Starcraft 2 and the previous game, the Protoss were the most highly cutting edge faction obtainable to the person. They make use of greatly on cybernetics along with their inherent psionic abilities to help them in battles. For this reason, the Protoss have a quantity of of the most potent forces in the title.
Nevertheless, they are also exceptionally expensive to construct. In a sense, they are the opposites of the Zerg race, who create simple units at a much cheaper price.
The core of the Protoss military in Starcraft 2 stays with the zealot. The zealot are their main ground troops and is the earliest ground unit a player has access to in the beginning. They are a hardy hand to hand combat unit that has importance even in exceptionally extended battles. Historically, zealots had been sluggish units that required a speed improvement to become exceptionally useful. Mainly because of their lack of momentum, they're vulnerable to projectile fire. Inside Starcraft 2, they can be improved to rush the enemy rapidly when it is in range. An alternative foundation of the Protoss defense force was the dragoon.
The dragoon was the primary ranged unit available to the gamer in the installment. It will not make a comeback in Starcraft 2 however. It has as a substitute been changed by two ranged units dubbed the immortals and the stalkers.
Additional units that are also present in the approaching video game are carriers, high templars, archons, dark templar and observers. Reavers are not available in Starcraft 2 despite them being an essential part of the preceding titles war strategies. Due to the high price of units in the title, gamers should be exceedingly careful when selecting units to include to their army. As it is still in the beta testing stage, it is unknown what original strategies will have an effect during gameplay.
Two chief high powered units that are given to the Protoss are the mothership unit and the colossus ground unit. Colossus are colossal towering behemoths that can only assault ground units. Despite its limitation, it destroys land based enemies and structures with virtual effortlessness. The mothership is built to be the leading unit of the Protoss defense force. Because of this, simply a single unit may be built at any one time. Its most powerful weapon would be the black hole capability which draws any rival units in range into the void.
Want to get to 70 fast but don't know where to start? This guide will show you exactly how to grind your way to 70, and will show you the best leveling spots in each zone.
Hellfire Peninsula 60-61
The best grinding spot in this area are the Wrathguards at the Legion Front. Most of the mobs in this zone are non-squishes, so these are the mobs that die quickly.
Zangarmarsh 61-63
Funggor Cavern is the best grinding spot in the zone as the Marsh Elementals die quickly and do not deal much damage. It's a good place to hang out for awhile, however you should focus more on doing the quests in this zone though.
Terokkar Forest 63-65
Although not all of the mobs in Firewing Point are easy, they are the best mobs to grind in the zone. Sometimes the adds may slow down the grinding a bit. This may not be a great grinding spot but it's probably the best one in this zone. Make sure you get the quests for Firewing Point before you go there.
Nagrand 65-67
The Vir'aani Clan around Oshu'gun (especially at the 3 little crystal areas) are the best grinding spots for this zone. also the Voidspawns around this area die fast too.If you find you can't get enough XP doing the quests, then you can hang out here for a little bit grinding these etherals.
Blade's Edge Mountains 67-68
Questing is the easiest way to level up here as there is no single good grinding spot.
Netherstorm 68-69
This zone really does not have any good grinding spots, the Wrathbringers and Terrorguards are probably the best mobs to grind in this zone. Another decent place could be at the Ethereum Staging Grounds, at 55.39
Shadowmoon Valley 69-70
The Legion Hold is one of the best grinding spots period. The Shadow Council Warlocks die extremely fast and drop good loot. Occasionally there is an Elite that you need to watch out for.
Now you know exactly where to grind. Happy leveling!
